Teacher

I have always taken great pleasure in sharing my music with others, and what better way to achieve this than by passing on my enthusiasm and knowledge to fellow pianists? I believe that the most important aspect of playing any musical instrument is the enjoyment.

I began teaching piano to a friend at university, which sparked an interest in taking it further. Consequently I have been teaching piano to both children and adults on a weekly basis since September 2006.

As well as overseeing their progress within the ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) syllabus, I enjoy supplementing their lessons with other types of music. For example, I arrange well-known pop tunes to make them more accessible to my less advanced pupils, and also try to encourage improvisation among those who show a keenness for jazz and blues.
